When adding Tom's first video, I noticed a credit to the Historic County Borders Project - so we're now using a mixed conglomerate of both old counties and new. For some reason, this left voids in the map. Is that not Britain? I dunno, we'll find out later.

Hi there! Welcome to the Tom Scott Mapping Project! This is unofficial and is not ran by Tom or his team - I'm a fan just like you.

I'm also an American.. which means I'm getting my fair share of learning how England Counties work.. which they don't. In practically every dataset I've looked through, it's someone's vague interpretation of what each county is based on proper government lines - OR it's other boundaries like election maps. Listen, if you are English and wanna help me out with a dataset or GeoJSON file of England counties like Tom is interpreting them, please email me - mitchell@signalmedia.live. I'd love to chat.

With that being said, the dataset I AM using is missing counties in a few places and, for some reason, includes Ireland. I'll fix that later. Counties will be gradually filled in, I promise.
